"The Yoga Tradition Says That If We Do Not Live Life In Alignment With Our Highest Purpose, Then We Will Never Be Truly Happy"  ~ Upanishads

It is with this alignment and spirit that I was called to photography as a young boy of 16 years old and what inspired me and has permitted me to achieve tremendous recognition and success. Also, it is from the place of "being of service to others" is what provides me more joy than anything else even to this day! I feel, as if it is my soul's purpose to create works of art that bring joy, pleasure and happiness to others. I also believe that everyone and everything are connected. Therefore, if I please you with the photographs I compose and capture, then I am pleasing everything in the universe, being that everything has a ripple effect and every action has a reaction. I want my actions to be positive actions and to generate positive reactions and to impact you positively.

I have been creating magazine cover photographs since my early days as a fashion photographer just out of high school while apprenticing. Taking college classes at Parsons School of Design in NYC and summer classes at Rochester Institute Of Technology in upstate Rochester, NY also helped me learn to think outside the box and hone in on my skill. While working in the fashion genre, I began studying the photographic art of Francesco Scavullo, Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon and Robert Farber. These great photographers instilled in me the concept of breaking rules and trying anything and everything new. What these visionaries did photographically, I began implementing into wedding photography long before it was fashionable. In New York and in America in the late 80’s and 90’s wedding photography was still typical, cookie cutter and old fashioned looking straight up and down photography. I noticed this immediately and began creating artistic and stylish wedding photography, in which my wedding photography appeared as if it was a magazine cover for a fashion shoot. Before studying the work of ultra stylish fashion photographers, I was a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the NY Professional Photographers Associations. In fact, I was one of the youngest members asked to lecture on my style of wedding photography, which I did. I won awards and I lectured. However, I left the association early in my career because I recognized wedding photography was extremely boring and looked nothing like the exciting magazine photography photographed by those outside the "wedding mold". It was this leap, which permitted me to challenge myself and to think opposite than typical or typically trained wedding photographers. I guess, you could say that I understood there were more creative ways to approach wedding photography and I was one of the very first to do exactly that.

The word spread like fire in New York as I pioneered a new style of wedding photography and as I trained dozens of photographers, many whom went on to operate their own companies. Before you know it and quite rapidly, my reputation for exceptionally stylish and highly classy and elegant wedding photography which mimics that of magazine covers exploded.

I operated five showrooms throughout New York and Long Island and I employed 136 incredible artist and technicians. My reputation always remained impeccable until the day I sold my company New York City based chain of studios twenty years after I opened my first studio. I must have done something right because I built the largest photo studio in America with annual revenue of $8M before I sold in 2002 and moved to the Hudson Valley to raise our young children in a beautiful and peaceful environment.

I am having fun creating beautiful photographs all over again, this time mostly as a Hudson Valley Photographer and I also service Westchester, Connecticut, Massachusetts including Boston, New Hampshire, Maine and New Jersey. I started as a kid and I realized that I retired way too young from photography. Therefore, I am still active and loving it as always being creativity flows out of me instinctually and like a river flows into an ocean. My level of energy and creativity must come from the Devine because there is no other way to describe it.

After selling my NYC photography studios, I began traveling around the world photographing nature and spiritual sites rich in history and energy. I opened a few galleries and sold my nature work in galleries in Boulder, Colorado, Palo Alto, California and Rhinebeck, New York. A couple years ago, several people began calling me in the Hudson Valley to photograph wedding assignments and model portfolios and being my children were all grown up, I decided to accept assignments. I base myself out of the beautiful town of Rhinebeck, NY where I have resided and raised my children since 2002.

I think my extensive experience in photography and in other creative endeavors such as restoring vintage homes in Rhinebeck from scratch has allowed me to keep my creative energy fresh and exciting. Additionally, my study in laws of the universe and in the health and wellness arena allowed me to become a published author. I have written articles for spiritual magazines and I have two books published. One book entitled:
Take A Hike is about the benefits of utilizing nature to restore and heal and the other book entitled: Gratitude is about how having gratitude for everything in your life actually helps you grow physically, spiritually and emotionally. These books in the form of mini-guides are available on this website in eBook form in the book section.

In conclusion, all I can finish with is the fact that I am extremely passionate about my love of creating art via photography. When I began as a very young photographer and video director, I never anticipated becoming so popular or becoming in such demand. I did not open a studio to become wealthy. I opened it because I wanted to do what I loved and the success followed unexpectedly. My father wanted me to join the printers union to receive union benefits. I could not agree to do something I knew I would not like and I stunned my family when I opened my first studio with my life savings at nineteen years old and I never looked back. My parents were very proud of my success after several years passed. They witnessed the community and industry support me and they watched me grow the business into the largest high end studio in the history of photography.
